| Beginning in 2004, Cindy and I have been going up to a big fiddle contest in Pembroke Ontario. What we discovered up there was the most astonishing array of musicians and music we have ever found. Since Pembroke sits on the Ottawa River just across from Quebec, there is a wonderful blend of Ontario and Quebec fiddling styles and repertoire. I was shooting in very low light at times and often did not want to use a flash. The resulting very slow shutter speed meant I had to hold things very steadily. Sometimes I moved, sometimes the musicians did.... sometimes both ;) These photos are downsized to 640 X 480 for the web.
